2011 Christchurch Earthquakes 

Southern Demolition & Salvage were a demolition contractor throughout the Christchurch Earthquake Recovery from day one. After the earthquake, Alan and the team, arrived in the city to offer Civil Defence emergency assistance and provide trucks and excavators.

The team assisted with making buildings safe during the initial aftershocks, including assisting with the rescue at the CTV Building where multiple lives were lost. 

The team demolished many commercial, infrastructure and residential projects throughout Christchurch during the emergency and recovery stages. 

Emergency Response

As a result of the experience gained through the 2011 Christchurch earthquakes, and many years of experience prior, Southern Demolition can offer assistance for a multitude of emergency recovery missions.  From fire damaged buildings to the partial collapse of structures, we have the equipment to assist when disaster hits. Working together with local organisations such a fire and emergency to safely and efficiently remediate the damage.
